Rosamae Greenwood Jacobsen died about 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 1994, at her home, of heart failure. She had courageously fought diabetes and heart disease for some months.
Rosamae was born October 8, 1925 to Wallace and Reba Shanks Greenwood in Union, Oregon. She attended local elementary schools, graduating from Union High School. She received her diploma in nursing and public health from a nursing school in Portland, Oregon. She served her one year internship in Klamath Falls just prior to her moving to Salt Lake City in 1946. She was immediately employed by the Salt Lake City/County Public Health Department, where she worked for 32 years. She retired in 1991.Rosamae married Alan C. Jacobsen in the Salt Lake Temple August 23, 1953. They are the parents of two sons and one daughter. They have 11 grandchildren. Besides being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Rosamae was a faithful, lifelong Relief Society visiting teacher and an avid genealogist, collecting volumes of information on her ancestors.
Survivors include her husband, Alan; daughter, Shawna, (Mrs. Steven Marx), Mark Alan Jacobsen, both of Las Vegas; Howard Wallace Jacobsen of Salt Lake City; and a brother, Dennis Erwin Greenwood of Pueblo, Colorado.
Funeral services will be held in the Holladay 2nd/11th Ward chapel, 2065 East 4675 South, Holladay, Utah at 12 Noon, Tuesday, August 16, 1994. Friends may call Monday evening between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5880 South 900 East and at the chapel one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Internment will be at the Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South.
