Ralph Andersen, a specialist in trade, industrial and technical education in the State Office of Education, was named an honorary life member of the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America recently. The honor is the highest bestowed by the vocational education group.

Andersen was cited for outstanding service to VICA's purposes and goals. Nationally, the organization has tens of thousands of high school and community college members.Andersen was elected to the VICA board in 1986 and was president in both 1988 and 1989. "Ralph's calm and considered involvement in VICA's reorganization was extremely valuable and he helped launch us into a new effort to effectively serve all its constituents," said Richard L. Ross, current board president.
