Regarding Peggy Wilson (Forum, Aug. 8): On July of 1992, the state of Utah in the name of justice and the law put to death William Andrews, who had survived 17 years in jail.
How many years are we going to plead discrimination? Was not a black man at the scene of the crime, and did he not participate? Surely, if he was innocent, he would not have stood by and watched while only one man gave Drano, stomped a pen in an ear, killed others, and raped and terrorized all by himself.Should we as a public go out on the street and grab a white man, prosecute him and execute him to even up the bias?
Is this like the mother who takes Johnnie to kindergarten and says to the teacher, "Johnnie is a good boy, so if he does anything wrong, you slap the child next to him and he will be frightened and behave"?
When are we going to accept our own responsibility for our own actions? Stop blaming society and accept that a man in the service is certainly liable for his own actions.
The Ogden Hi Fi killer (Mr. Andrews) has humanely been sent to the Great Juror and Judge, who can reward him for his actions.
