The Nebo School Board approved its final budget Wednesday with only minuscule changes from the tentative budget adopted in June.
The new budget is $93.5 million, an increase of about $150 over the June proposal, said Errol Smith, district business director. The county gave the district different property valuations several days after the tentative budget was approved, causing the difference, Smith said. The main increase from last year's budget was caused by a $30 million bond approved by voters in May. The bond vote resulted in a 4-mill property-tax increase - the equivalent of $54.40 more each year on a $100,000 home - that will be used for building expansion and remodeling.
