SHARE DEATH: MARIE REESE AUSTAD

Marie Reese Austad, 51, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 1994, from overwhelming infection following surgery.

She was born July 28, 1943 in Layton, Utah, a daughter of Gordon Wayne and Delpha Lemmon Reese. She married Robert Grant Austad, July 10, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She had lived in Utah most of her life in Utah. She also lived in Colorado and Missouri. Marie had a brilliant mind and attended Weber State College on a Debate Scholarship. She graduated Magna Cum Laude. She held many callings in the LDS Church, amongst which was that of teacher.Her greatest asset was her teaching skills. Her compassion for others gave her the ability to inspire. She touched many lives and all who met her, loved her. She was Bonneville High Schools Debate Coach. She was the greatest of English teachers and inspired her students. She spent many hours at extra curricular activities to help benefit her students.

Marie was a published author and was Utah's Poet of the Year. He sense of humor spilled over into the everyday and made life an adventure.

Her greatest achievement was wife and mother.

Surviving are her husband, of Hurricane; four sons and two daughters, Matt Robert (Irma) Austad, St. George, Utah; Adam Reese (Wendy) Austad, LaVerkin, Utah; Wayde Andrew (Tana) Austad, Aurora, Colo; Zachary Grant Austad, Hurricane, Utah; Heather (Greg) Cannon, St. George, Utah; Melissa Merinda Austad, Hurricane, Utah; six and one half grandchildren. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Gordon (Delpha) Reese, Layton, Utah; one brother and three sisters, Gordon Wayne Reese and wife, Diane, Salina, Utah; Janet Reese Johnson, Layton, Utah; Sally Reese (Mrs. Brian) Marston, Layton, Utah; Wendy Reese (Mrs. Jeff) Purdy, Oswego, New York. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Wayne Reese and a brother, Arther Washington Reese.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 18, 1994, 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main St., where friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.

Funeral services will also be held Saturday, August 20, 1994, 12 noon at the Hurricane Stake Center, 677 South 700 West, Hurricane, where friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Hurricane City Cemetery. St. George Funeral Directors, Spilsbury Desert Rose Mortuary.
