Brett Alvey's two-run home run in the fourth inning lifted Larry H. Miller Toyota to a 3-2 victory over The Farm of Madison, Wis., Wednesday night in the International Softball Congress Fastpitch World Tournament.
With the victory, Miller Toyota is 3-0 and will play All Car of Green Bay, Wis., Friday at 1 p.m. (MDT) at Queen Elizabeth Park.Leftfielder Kyle Magnusson staked Miller Toyota to a 1-0 lead in the second inning by hitting a Michael White changeup over the right-centerfield wall.
Alvey's home run, which went over the leftfield wall, put Miller Toyota ahead, 3-0, in the fourth inning. The Farm scored a run in the fourth inning. Dave Johnson came around to score after getting the first hit off Peter Meredith in 14 innings in the ISC tournament. Johnson scored on a fielder's choice.
Meredith is 3-0 in the tournament. He has given up only four hits and two runs in 21 innings.
