Marshall Hayward Adams died Aug. 16, 1994 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah, of cancer.

Born July 8, 1915 in Fairmont, West Virginia, to Harrison and Sophrona Adams. He had one brother and two sisters. Married Mary S. Ames, July 31, 1937. Graduated high school, Mount Vernon, Ohio and joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, moving to Pocatello, Idaho. He went to work on Union Pacific Railroad in 1941, retiring as an engineer in 1979 after 38 years. He enjoyed operating his CB Radio. He was a member of Methodist Church, member and volunteer American Cancer Society, and New Voices of Utah, Loyal Order of the Moose, and an avid Mason. Member Progress Lodge #22 F&AM, The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, The York Rite of Freemasonry and a noble of El Kalah Shrine.Survived by wife, Mary; children, Lynn E.; Mary Virginia (Aston), and George A., all of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Chamberlain.

Funeral services will be held by Progress Lodge #22 F&AM Saturday, August 20, 1994, 1 p.m. at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at Evans & Early. Friends wishing may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Funeral Directors: Evans & Early Mortuary.
