Brigham Young University students are preparing to wash as many as 75 cars at a time in a free community car wash offered by 1,000 incoming freshmen.

Area residents can bring their cars or trucks to the south stadium parking lot Thursday, Aug. 25, between 6:30 and 8 p.m. for washing and vacuuming.The car wash is part of new-student orientation, according to Calee Burraston, BYUSA program director over the car wash. Other community service projects will include cleaning canyon parks and sections of area highways. More than 4,000 students are expected to participate.
