A man who threatened his ex-girlfriend with a bat Tuesday later used it to vandalize a car parked outside her West Valley home, police said.

The man, 23, fled the house, 3771 S. 3375 West, about 9:45 a.m. following a confrontation with the woman, West Valley officer Bob Day said. When an argument erupted, he allegedly chased her inside the home, armed with the bat.She and another man inside locked the door to prevent him from entering, prompting him to break out the windows of the other man's car, Day said.

He then fled the neighborhood. Police issued an attempt-to-locate bulletin for his vehicle.
