UTILITY SIGNS ARE OUT OF CONTROL

SHARE UTILITY SIGNS ARE OUT OF CONTROL

In a recent article, "Sign flap dogs S.L. councilman," after all the talk of illegally posted signs on poles, etc., Dorothy Johnson of Salt Lake City is quoted as saying, "I'd be stopping every 10 feet to take fliers off poles."

Well, Dorothy, I have been stopping in my neighborhood and yours for over a year now to do just that. I have taken down over 1,000 signs. A friend has removed nearly that many in his part of town. Credit repair, pruning, aeration, armoires, lawn care, health insurance, fertilizer, sprinkling systems, carpet cleaning, painting, window cleaning, day care, scuba diving, tilling, handyman, need extra money? Get the picture? Out of control? All illegal and nothing more than legible graffiti. Now, all recycled.Take back your beautiful neighborhood and take down those signs. I ignore "lost dog" signs, but the commercial ones are gone. Oh, I tried the city complaint line to get something done, but that only resulted in an irate sign owner on my doorstep threatening me during the dinner hour. In light of that, please don't print my name. I'll just clean it up anonymously.
