The care and preservation of Sugarhouse Park has for many years been monitored by the Sugar House Park Authority. Mayor Deedee Corradini has seen fit to dismiss this group of people and appoint a new group.
It is hoped that the new Park Authority will choose to protect this wonderful parcel of land, as the pre-existing group did. It is an oasis enjoyed by a vast number of people who appreciate the noncommercial flavor of the park. Loss of any part of this precious park to commercial ventures can greatly change what people now enjoy.I am an active member of the Utah Associated Garden Clubs Inc., and all of us are upset over the prospect of losing any part of this park, our Garden Center Building or our gardens.
Mayor Corradini and her cohorts who intend to tear down the Garden Center and build commercial projects do not have the interests of the people of Salt Lake Valley in mind.
