Salt Lake firefighters battle a stubborn blaze Tuesday at a boarded-up home at 559 W. 200 North. One man was living in the rear of the house but managed to escape uninjured. The blaze - which gutted the home - caused between $20,000 and $30,000 damage, said Capt. Dan Andrus. It took firefighters about an hour to bring the fire under control because the home had several crawl spaces due to extensive remodeling. A crew was expected to remain at the house throughout much of the day to extinguish hot spots.
