When will new traffic signals be installed at Sunset Drive and at Cherry Lane on U.S. 89?

No one knows for sure. The Utah Department of Transportation originally promised the lights last year, and the latest word to the city of Layton is that the lights could possibly be in by winter.

Scott Carter, Layton director of community development, said when he talked to UDOT last week, officials indicated bids for installing the lights would be opened in September. He also said there is a apparently a $2,000 incentive if a company can have them installed by November of this year.

Terry Coburn, Layton public works director, is skeptical that UDOT will have either of the new traffic signals installed this year.
