Gerald Winchester Swank, age 83, died August 18, 1994 at his home in Lehi, Utah.

Born April 20, 1911 in Ness County, Kansas, to Elmer and Minnie Long Swank. He married Vera DeJarnett September 27, 1934 in Crescent, Oklahoma. He retired from oil and mineral exploration work after more than 40 years. He was a member and Elder of the Presbyterian Church.Survived by his wife of 59 years, 11 months; sons, Gary (Judy) Swank, New Jersey; Gordon (Melba) Swank, Lehi; daughters, Becky (Art) Thomason, Layton; Annette (Bill) Hefley, Texas; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Carrie Perkins, Blanche Kite, both of Crescent, Okla.; Lena Bradley, Moab; and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clarence, a sister, Viola, and a grandson, Michael.

He was the world's greatest Christian, husband, and dad, and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be Monday, 1 p.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church, 75 North 100 East, American Fork. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Sunday 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the Community Church one hour prior to services. Burial, Sandy City Cemetery.
