Darlene Jensen, died August 18, 1994 in a Salt Lake Hospital of a heart ailment.
She was born February 17, 1928 in Tooele, Utah, to Frank Melvin and Claudia Vera Kizer Shields. Married Alan Jensen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS Church, having served as Young Women's president, Primary chorister and Relief Society chorister and teacher, and adult Sunday School teacher. Darlene was always improving herself, she was creative, and loved to further her knowledge. She greatly enjoyed music, gardening and traveling. She retired from Combined Metals Reduction Co. after 29 years and from Hercules in 1986. Darlene was challenged with many health problems during her life and faced them with grace and dignity.Her loving husband and children will miss her strength and courage.
She is survived by husband, Alan Jensen, of Tooele; daughter, Mrs. Paul (Leslie) Rees, Farmington; sons, Kevin Jensen, Salt Lake City; and David (Tamara) Jensen, Mendon. Also surviving are her sisters, Beverly Winn, Tooele; and Mrs. Max (Teri) Nichols, Layton. She is also survived by her seven grandsons, the joy of her life, Brian and Kyle Rees, Eric, Michael and David Paul Jensen, Nicholas and Andrew Jensen. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family expresses a deep debt of gratitude to the medical staff of the TICU at LDS Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, 12 noon in the Tooele 4th-14th LDS Ward Chapel, 192 West 2nd South, Tooele. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main, Tooele, and one hour prior to the services, Monday at the church.
Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
