The Salt Lake Symphony will hold auditions for new members Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 6:30 p.m. at 220 Morris Ave., second floor. Instruments needed include violins, violas, string bass, trumpets, bass clarinet and French horn.

The group tours extensively through the United States and Canada. Previous choral experience is a must.
- THE SWISS CHORUS EDELWEISS has openings in all voice categories as it prepares for its 60th-anniversary concert in November.

- REGISTRATION and auditions for the Cache Children's Choir will take place Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 in the choral foyer of Utah State University's Chase Fine Arts Center.
Girls auditioning for the Chamber Choir, directed by Bonnie Slade, are asked to come between 4 and 5 p.m. either day, boys between 5 and 6 p.m. The Cadet and Concert Choirs, led by Leslie Timmons and Jill DeVilbiss, are open without audition.
