Thomas Harris, the elusive author of "Silence of the Lambs," was recently spotted in Florence, Italy, attending the trial of a laborer accused of killing 16 people.

"This is a beautiful criminology case and the story is interesting, very interesting," he told La Repubblica. "I am here to work and gather data."Although there have been rumblings about the further culinary adventures of Hannibal Lecter, and even some specific delivery dates for a manuscript, it appears Harris is still researching the subject he's a master of.
