SHARE DEATH: DOUGLAS ""PETE"" THOMSEN

Douglas "Pete" Thomsen, age 86 died August 20, 1994 in Salt Lake City at his home.

Born November 18, 1907, Salt Lake City to Peter Christian Kilian and Selma Christina Oberg Thomsen. Married Ellen Lucile McCleery October 13, l930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on April 7, 1980. Married Minnie Patten October 15, 1983 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was active member of the LDS Church, having served in the Danish Mission from 1927-1929. He served as Bishop of the Richards Ward and in the High Council of the Sugarhouse Stake. He served in many other callings in the church during his lifetime. He loved sports, was an excellent golfer. He worked as a Probate Clerk with Salt Lake County for over 40 years, during which time he made many friendships and professional contacts. His number one priority in his life was that of his family.

Survivors, wife Minnie, children: Douglas E. and Lorie Thomsen, Virginia and John Jorgensen, Richard D. and Connie Thomsen, Carolyn and Kreg Kirkham; stepchildren: Patsy and David Pratt, Richard and Joanne Patten, Mack Patten; 34 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Avery, many nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services Tuesday, August 23rd, 1 p.m at the Richards Ward, 855 East Garfield Ave. Friends and family may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple on Monday 6-8 p.m. and also on Tuesday one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
