Members of the Utah National Guard sky divers and static-line parachutists catch air above Deer Creek Reservoir Saturday during a daylong training exercise. Dozens of chutists fell on both land and water after being dropped from a plane and a COBRA helicopter, simulating both a land and sea invasion. Sunny weather provided the perfect backdrop for the exercise, which added color to the boat sails that pop up regularly on summer days at Deer Creek. Family members provided an audience on the beaches as divers took to the air, basking in warmth of 90-plus degree temperatures that blanketed the Wasatch Front.
