Our dearest husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away in St. George, August 21, 1994.

Born Jan. 19, 1915, Provo, Utah, to Oluf Hyrum and Ellen Myrtle Clinger Andersen. Married Areta M. Hansen Nov. 27, 1935; sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He lived in Magna and Granger. Attended Cyprus High and BYU. Retired Kennecott Copper in 1975. Founding member, Salt Lake Men's Garden Club. Member Utah Gladiolus Society. Played in school and dance bands. High Priest in LDS Church, serving in many capacities. Loving foster father to dozens of children. Respected and loved by all who knew him.Survived by wife, Santa Clara; son, Dennis F. (Karren), Salem; daughter, Joyce R. (Dick) Gaufin, W. Valley; brother, Dell William (Nina), Midvale; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews. Preceded in death by mother, father, and sister, Lucille (O.J.) Coon.

Visitations will be Tuesday 7-8 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary, 300 West St. George Blvd. in St. George; Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd., West Valley and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the West Valley LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 3963 So. Peechwood Dr. (3450 West) prior to funeral services starting at 12 noon. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park, West Valley.
