The Western Humanities Concern based in Salt Lake City has won an $80,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The money is "to support library reading and discussion programs on various subjects in six states in the Intermountain West," according to an endowment press release.That was part of $29.7 million in grants announced by the endowment on Tuesday and was the only program in Utah receiving funds.
Grants went to colleges, film production companies, libraries and other institutions in 40 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The endowment issues such grants four times a year after meetings of its advisory board.
