Carma Barker Zaugg, age 80, died Monday, August 22, 1994 at her home in Clearfield.

Born in Ogden, January 31, 1914, to Wilford LeRoy and Eva May Higley Barker, they moved to Pleasant View where she graduated from Weber High School. She then took a correspondence course in business and worked in her father's grocery store.She served an LDS mission in the Northwestern States. She wed Lawrence D. Zaugg in the Logan LDS Temple, October 4, 1939. They served in the LDS South Dakota Rapid City Mission. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Europe in October, 1989. Both served in the Ogden LDS Temple. He died on May 5, 1992. She was a member of the Clearfield LDS 7th Ward and was currently serving as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Mrs. Zaugg was a compassionate lady. Her greatest joy was the time she spent in the service of those less fortunate than she. Many hours of compassionate service were given to loved ones, friends and neighbors through her devotion. Her hobbies included her love of music.

Surviving are two sons, Larry (Terri) Zaugg, Roy; Dale (Kaylene) Zaugg, Ogden; one daughter, Janet (Dennis) Evans, Layton; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are five brothers, Lawrence Barker, Alvin Barker, both of California; Boyd Barker, North Ogden; Leonard Barker, Darrell Barker, both of Ogden; two sisters, Erva Kunzler and Donna Chadburn, both of Ogden. She was preceded in death by one son, David and one brother, Junior.

Services will be Friday, August 26, at 11 a.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 - 36th Street. Family will greet friends Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment: Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
