After the second-hottest July-August period in history, temperatures have dropped to more comfortable levels in northern Utah (the mercury peaked at 92 degrees in the city Tuesday), but some areas of south-ern Utah are still sizzling. Tuesday's high readings included 104 at St. George; 100 at Hanksville, Wayne County, and Bullfrog Marina, Kane County; and 99 at Green River, Emery County; and Zion National Park. It was 86 Tuesday in Logan.
