The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #2 of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Association has formally endorsed Salt Lake County Attorney David Yocom's bid for district attorney.
The organization represents about 300 active and retired Salt Lake County deputy sheriffs, correctional officers, bailiffs and dispatchers.Yocom said he is pleased to receive the endorsement and believes that it indicates broad support from law enforcement for his work as county attorney during the past eight years.
If elected to the newly created office of district attorney, Yocom said, he promises to continue his efforts in the fight against crime, particularly against violent and gang-related crime.
