A Salt Lake Community College student was in critical condition Thursday with injuries she suffered when she was struck by a vehicle on her way to school.

Michele Cabrera, 38, got out of a bus about 7:45 a.m. at 4450 S. 1750 West when the accident occurred. She was walking in front of the bus to cross the street when she was struck by a car driven by Taesoo Kim, 28, also a SLCC student.Cabrera was treated for a broken leg and head injuries before being taken by helicopter to LDS Hospital, where she remained in critical condition, a spokesman said.
