SHARE GUNSHOT VICTIM BLAMES SHOOTING ON EX-INMATE

The victim of a shooting Wednesday in Jordan Park said the attack is one of many aimed at him by a man he knew in the Gunnison prison.

Cedric Ellington, 23, Murray, was shot in the upper right side of his back and through his armpit while in the park at 1100 S. 900 West, according to a Salt Lake police report. He and friends drove to FHP Hospital, where he was treated for the gunshot wound and later released.Ellington told police he knew who shot him and that the shooting arose from an incident in the prison. He also said the man had stabbed him with a fork and screwdriver on other occasions.

Police, after meeting with an adult probation and parole agent, arrested a 25-year-old Salt Lake man for investigation of attempted murder.
