A transient man suffered minor injuries and a stab wound in the hand after he was attacked in a Salt Lake parking garage Wednesday night by two unknown men using a knife and crowbar.

The man, 26, and another transient were standing in front of the Salt Palace parking terrace, 120 W. 200 South, when they got into a fight with the other men, according to a Salt Lake police report.The transient pulled a sprinkler pipe from the ground, which he used to defend himself after one of the suspects chased him into the garage. The suspect struck the man in the forehead with the crowbar and stabbed the man's left hand.

As the suspects left in a car with an unknown woman, the transient threw the sprinkler pipe and broke the rear passenger side window. The man was treated for his injuries at the scene.
