Caress Body Bar has announced a national call for entries for the second annual "Caress Before You Dress" lingerie design competition. Students at design schools as well as fashion enthusiasts from the general public are invited to submit sketches of lingerie designed in the image of the Caress woman - soft, sensual, feminine and self-assured.
The designs will be reviewed by a panel of judges including representatives from the fashion press. Ten finalists selected from the submitted sketches will be invited to create a sample garment of their design that will be modeled in December at the "Caress Before You Dress" Lingerie Fashion Show in Los Angeles. The grand-prize winner will receive $1,000 and a chance to have her or his design featured in Caress advertising. Three runners-up will receive $500.The contest is co-sponsored by Caress and VH-1. - Bellezza Salon will give Salt Lake City a preview of hair fashion for fall in a fund-raising event titled "Rejuv-a-nation," set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Crossroads Plaza (mall level 2, north concourse). The evening will consist of a hair/fashion show designed, choreographed and staged by employees of Bellezza Salon. The fashion portion will feature recycled clothing donated by Miscellania. A reception will follow.
Tickets are $12 pre-sale and $15 on the day of the event. Proceeds from the show will go to the Give to the Earth Foundation. Tickets are available at Bellezza Salon, Crossroads Plaza.
- The 1994 Latina Model Contest, now in its second year, is looking for a young Hispanic woman who dreams of a glamorous career as a model. Last year, the dream came true for Adriana Magallanez. This year, the grand-prize winner will be selected from thousands of young women nationwide. She will win $10,000 in Avon modeling fees. She will also be featured in upcoming Avon sales brochures, one of America's most widely circulated publications, reaching 16 million consumers every two weeks. The grand-prize winner will also receive $1,000 and a 14-karat-gold pendant.
Candidates must be Hispanic or of Hispanic descent, 15-29 years old, residents of the United States and never have modeled professionally. Judging will be based on overall appearance, photogenic qualities and suitability for the Avon brochure.
The grand-prize winner and four finalists will win a three-day, all-expense-paid trip to New York City.

- Glamour, the largest fashion, beauty and health magazine in the United States, will host a fashion event at the ZCMI Downtown Mall Center Court on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 9:30 a.m. The fall fashion update will be hosted by Christine Lippe, Glamour's merchandising editor.
