A long argument at a West Valley home reached a climax early Tuesday when a father shot his son in the leg.
The victim, 27, was taken to Pioneer Valley Hospital where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound in his shin.West Valley Police Lt. Guy Dodge said the son had been temporarily staying with his parents at 3490 W. Kathy Ave. While police are still investigating the incident, Dodge said it appears the son was intoxicated and that he and his parents had argued for several hours before the midnight shooting.
The son became increasingly belligerent and apparently cut phone lines and threatened his father with a knife before the man shot him, Dodge said.
