Five people have been added to the community governing board of Alta View, Cottonwood, LDS and Wasatch Canyons hospitals, according to Intermountain Health Care officials.
They are Richard A. Christenson, president of the Capitol Co.; Lillian Tom-Orme, director of the tuberculosis control and refugee health program at the Utah Department of Health, and Jon M. Huntsman Jr., vice chairman of the Huntsman Group of Companies.Also, R. Thayne Robson, executive director of the University of Utah's Bureau of Economic and Business Research, and Gregory A. Schwitzer, medical director of Alta View, Cottonwood and LDS hospitals.
IHC officials said community board members oversee the operations and charitable mission of the four hospitals. They are responsible for a variety of functions including quality management, medi-cal staff credentials, planning and finance and community relations.
The five new people bring to 23 the number of board members. Others are Richard J. Galbraith, chairman; M. Gordon Johnson; Truman F. Clawson; Gary Wm. Farnes; Dr. Eric D. Anderson; Penny S. Brooke; Dr. Paul N. Clayton; Hazel C. Johnston; Kenneth Y. Knight; Dr. Ronald M. Larkin; Dr. Patricia Legant; Lawrence H. Lee; Dr. T. Scott Lindley; Dr. Richard R. Price; Dr. Kent F. Richards; Harris H. Simmons; Dr. Bruce F. Sorensen; and Dr. Charles W. Sorenson.
