Devona Cowley Jensen, 87, of Richfield, died August 29, 1994 in Logan, Utah.

She was born April 3, 1907 in Richfield, Utah to Angus Arthur and Emma Dastrup Cowley. She attended grade school in Sigurd, Utah, graduated from Richfield High School and received a teaching degree from BYU. She taught one year in Richfield Elementary School. She married Evan Ray Jensen, September 12, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Austin, Utah before moving to Richfield, Utah in 1944. Devona was active in the LDS Church, serving in various capacities in the YWMIA, Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School. While serving on the Relief Society Stake Board, she assisted in the Temple and Burial Clothing Dept. She enjoyed her associations in the Monroe Literose (Literary) Club, Richfield Study Club, DUP Camp Richfield and the Big Sisters. She worked at BYU and while serving as a clerk in the 4th District Juvenile Court in Richfield, she was give the state's "Most Courteous Employee" Award in 1968.She is survived by husband, Evan, Logan; two sons, Bartell C. and Arlene Jensen, Logan; Douglas R. and Gwen Jensen, San Diego, California; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Viella Swindle, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by parents, one son, Evan Max Jensen; one granddaughter, Janalee Jensen; and one brother, Melvin Cowley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 1994 at 12 noon in the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 50 South 100 West, Richfield. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
