Two Utah State University students were recently recognized as top students in North America by the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE).
Curtis H. Blanchard, Tremonton, and Kristen Redd, Logan, won $1,000 awards in the annual SAMPE Undergraduate Awards Program, announced Robert A. Dunaetz, SAMPE international president. A total of 27 awards were granted to individuals from among the 154 candidates nominated.Blanchard and Redd are juniors in USU's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. They were recommended for the award by Frank Redd, department head at USU.
Engineering students in the United States and Canada are eligible to compete awards.
