Edward Charles Smith, age 80, died July 31, 1994 in a Price Hospital.

Born February 14, 1914 in Aspen, Colorado; son of Tony and Marie Hotchever Smith. Married Lorene A. Casto Doherty on March 20, 1970 in Farmington, Utah. Long time resident of Helper. Employee D&RGW, Brotherhood of Locomotive. Engineer with 38 years service. Later employed with Helper City as groundkeeper, city park and cemetery. Enjoyed bowling, fishing and loving his grandchildren.Survived by wife, Lorene Smith, Helper; son and spouse, Fred E. and Sharon Smith, Ogden; stepdaughter, Colleen L. Lupo, Ferron; three grandchildren: Audra and Miranda Lupo, Tyler Larsen; sister, Ethel McCabe, Aspen, Colo.; nephew, Fred Pierce, Aspen, Colo.; niece, Alma Lee Flack, Evanston, Wyo.

Graveside memorial service Saturday, August 6, 1994, 1 p.m. Mt. View Cemetery, Helper, Utah. Under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
