Anton Vanderwerf, 69, returned to his Heavenly Father, August 3, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born May 4, 1925 in Rotterdam, Netherlands to Adrianus Dirk and Sara Byl Vanderwerf. He married his childhood sweetheart and dearest friend, Catharina van Vliet, February 26, 1947. She became his eternal companion January 22, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He retired in 1987 from United Precision and was later employed by the Granite School District as a bus driver. An active member and High Priest in the LDS Church.His family is the greatest love of his life. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Cathy (Chuck) Compton, Mirza (Henry) Smith, Marilyn (Steve) Clark; 15 grandchildren; and his mother. Preceded in death by his father and sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 1994 at the Valley View 3rd Ward Chapel, 4101 South 1925 East. Friends may call Friday, August 5, 1994 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and at the church on Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
