Our dearly loved Bertha Delilah Ohran Hansen died peacefully Tuesday, August 2, 1994, at Larsen's Nursing Home in Lehi, Utah, after a long illness.
She was born October 22, 1900 in Lehi, Utah to Charles A. Ohran and Bertha Woodhouse Ohran. She was the only daughter of 10 children. She married Mahlin S. Hansen on November 30, 1922 in Lehi. She graduated from Lehi High School and attended the University of Utah. She worked as a school teacher in Calleo, Utah and as a telephone operator in Lehi before her marriage. She worked with her husband in their office supply company, at Geneva Steel Co., at her brother's construction company, and at Warburton Ready Mix, where she retired at age 72.She lived in Utah most of her life but also spent several years in Speedway, Indiana, Twin Falls, and Boise, Idaho.
She was very active in the LDS Church, where she served in many capacities in the Relief Society, Primary, and Sunday School organizations. She loved gardening, painting and creating beautiful ceramic dolls.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Virginia Hunter (Dee) of American Fork; Paul Hansen (Maria) of Victoria, B.C., Canada; Vernis Madsen of Ivins, Utah; Melissa Peterson (Don) of Woodland Hills; and Carl Hansen (Linda) of American Fork; two brothers, Wallace Ohran (Maurine) of Provo; and Paul Ohran (Ruby) of Ceres, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her firstborn child, a son, and seven of her brothers.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 6, 1994, at 11 a.m, in the LDS Tenth Ward Chapel, 350 West 700 North, American Fork. Friends may call at Anderson Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church, one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
