A British school for butlers says that for $100,000 it is offering the chance to rent one of its pupils for a year as a gift to a friend or business associate.

The unusual offer has come from the London International School of Butlers, a training ground for the traditional British doorman, valet and personal assistant rolled into one.The gift includes a year's service by a stiff-upper-lipped butler, "trained British style," and covers his food and laundry expenses, private medical care and $35,000 salary.

"We're talking about seriously rich people here," school director Ivor Spencer told Reuters. "And if they see one of our butlers for a year, I think they'll want to employ him permanently."

Spencer said the offer was aimed at "very wealthy" Arab, American and Japanese clients. "This must be one of the most expensive and unique gifts ever," he said.
