A Logan man has been arrested for allegedly locking the employees of a Logan hardware store in a trash bin and robbing the store of more than $84,000.

The 21-year-old man was booked Tuesday into the Cache County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping - all first-degree felonies - and theft, a second-degree felony. He is being held without bail.

An anonymous tipster led Logan City police to a Smithfield residence, where they arrested the suspect about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. After executing a search of the home, police recovered a large sum of money.

Detective Eric Collins would not reveal how much money was found because police still believe an accomplice may have been involved in the robbery.

On July 17, a man clad in a Halloween mask robbed the Ernst Home & Nursery store in Logan at gunpoint and locked four employees in the store's trash bin.

The employees were rescued about a half hour later when someone noticed the note they had scrawled on a piece of cardboard.
