The Uintah County Sheriff's Department is asking for help in locating a Vernal man missing for the past week.

The blue station wagon owned by David Turner, 38, was found Monday by a state parks officer on the south beach of Red Fleet Reservoir north of Vernal. Turner had been reported missing last week by his father, Dan Turner.Keys, a .22-caliber rifle, tools and a syringe were found in the car, according to the sheriff's department.

Uintah County Search and Rescue sent divers into the reservoir Tuesday in an attempt to locate Turner's body, with no success.

Late Wednesday afternoon an extensive ground search began with the help of a search dog out of Colorado and an ultralight plane. The search continued Thursday.

Deputy Sheriff Jeff Merrill asked anyone who may have information on Turner's whereabouts, or who may have noticed suspicious activity at Red Fleet anytime during the past few days, to contact the department at 789-4222.
