Sarah McLachlan brings her haunting song talents to Deer Valley Resort on Monday, Aug. 8, in concert with October Project.
McLachlan's moody, complex music is highlighted by an unusual blend of string, percussion and keyboard instruments, as well as her own classically trained voice. Her songs are quite personal and have often been described as akin to peering into someone's private diary. Yet, at the same time there is a universality to each tune, making them widely accessible.Opening for McLachlan is October Project, an impressionistic group providing intricate harmonies behind lead singer Mary Fahl's alto voice, interpreting the poetic lyrics of Julie Flanders and Emil Adler. Marina Belica, David Sabatino and Urbano Sanchez round out the group.
The Monday concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available through Smith'sTix and King Kong Music in Park City, or phone 467-TIXX.
