SuperSonics to play in Tacoma for '94-'95TACOMA, Wash. - The city of Tacoma and the Seattle SuperSonics have reached agreement on a contract for the team to play its 1994-95 season in the Tacoma Dome, the city said Friday.

The Sonics are playing in Tacoma, 30 miles south of Seattle, while their home venue, the Seattle Coliseum, is being rebuilt at a cost of $74 million. It is expected to be ready for the 1995-96 season.

Mueller Park hosting 2 title events

Mueller Park Baseball in Bountiful will be hosting the United States Amateur Baseball Association World Series for 12 and 15 year olds from Monday, Aug. 8 through Saturday, Aug. 13.

The 12-year-old tournament includes Mueller Park, Team Utah, Farmington, Sandy, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington.

The 15-year-old division will consist of two Utah teams: Hunter and Team Utah.

All games will be held at Mueller Park (955 E. 1800 South). The cost for a family pass is $15 or $3 per day for adults. All area little league players are admitted free.

Alta Babe Ruth team takes 3rd

The Alta Babe Ruth team of 11 and 12 year olds, representing Central Utah, took third place this past week in the Pacific Southwest Regional Bambino Tournament held at Rohnert Park near San Francisco, Calif.

Central Utah was led by Ben Saylor and Brett Sato. Saylor, who had the tournament's highest batting average of.688, and Sato were named to the all-tournament team.
