Morris Travel, 240 E. Morris Ave., has acquired TravelLink, Portland, Ore., a travel agency doing $7 million worth of business annually.
Mark Slack, Morris president, said the purchase is part of a long-term plan to expand Morris Travel beyond the 25 offices in Utah and Idaho. He said Portland is a thriving market and he believes the Portland operation can grow into a $50 million to $100 million agency because of the merger.Randy Goodrich, TravelLink president, said Morris not only will give his company more efficient operations with a state-of-the-art reservations system, but he can offer customers more and better travel savings and options because of its ability to bargain better with airlines, hotels, cruise lines and other travel suppliers.
Goodrich will remain as president of Morris Travel's new division.
