Pinch hitter Tom Prince hit a two-RBI single to lift Albuquerque to an 11-9 come-from-behind win over Calgary.
Prince's single scored Jerry Brooks and Todd Hollandsworth to give the Dukes, who trailed by as many as six runs, a 10-9 lead in the seventh inning Monday night.It made a winner of reliever Gary Wayne (3-3), who pitched 2 2-3 innings of scoreless relief. Todd Williams got the final two outs for his 11th save.
Greg Pirkl and Scott Bryant each drove in two runs to give Calgary starter Ryan Franklin a 4-0 lead in the first.
But Franklin ran into trouble in the sixth and reliever Scott Davison (0-1) couldn't hold the lead.
Franklin and Davison were both making their first Class AAA appearances after being called up from Class A on Sunday.
Phoenix 7, Edmonton 5
At Edmonton, Alberta, Gary Scott and Dax Jones both homered in the seventh inning as the Phoenix Firebirds won a 7-5 rain-shortened victory over the Edmonton Trappers.
A four-run eighth gave the Firebirds their first lead of the game. Reuben Smiley tripled off reliever Jim Corsi (0-1) to right field, scoring J.R. Phillips, Scott and Jones. Erik Johnson then singled on the soggy ground to left, scoring Smiley.
The game was called after eight innings due to the wet conditons.
Toros 4, Stars 3
At Las Vegas, Scott Makarewicz drove in Ray Montgomery with a one-out single in the ninth inning to give the Tucson Toros a victory over the Las Vegas Stars.
After the Stars tied the game in the bottom of the eighth off winner Jim Dougherty (5-4) on an RBI single by Ray Holbert, the Toros came back against Andres Berumen (1-6).
