A construction worker was crushed to death Monday afternoon when a 15-foot-high concrete wall fell on him at a Provo athletic club.
Killed was:Edward George Bean, 25, Payson.
Bean was pronounced dead shortly before noon by Provo paramedics at the Foothill Athletic Club.
According a Provo Police report, Bean and two other workers for a construction company were attempting to remove an interior concrete wall when it fell over and trapped Bean. The wall measured 15 feet high, 20 feet long and about 8 inches thick.
Firefighters used heavy equipment to extricate Bean, but he was found dead when they reached his body. The Provo building inspector and the State Industrial Commission are conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident.
