Verne Huntington Eliason, age 81, passed away August 8, 1994, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He fought a valiant battle with a terminal illness.

Born March 27, 1913, at Grantsville, Utah to John R. and Leone Glee Huntington Eliason. Married Margaret Brown Jacobs in the Salt Lake Temple February 28, 1940. She passed away April 3, 1974. Married Virginia (Ginnie) Bernstrom Bourne in the Salt Lake Temple December 1, 1977. Graduated from the University of Utah School of Business. Attended George Washington University Law School and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Graduate School in Washington, D.C.Active member of the LDS Church. Filled a mission to Eastern States. Was in two bishoprics and also served as a High Councilman. The past 18 years he has worked in the Salt Lake Temple, also host on Temple Square.

He was an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed at Arlington, Virginia (Bureau of Naval Personnel). Owned several businesses after the war. Entered the real estate business in 1949. Organized Southeast Realtors in 1952 and has been the principal broker to the present time. He has served on many committees of Salt Lake Real Estate Board. Has also been chairman of the Multiple Listing Committee and a member of Board of Directors.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters and four stepdaughters: Mrs. John Fowler (Rae) Villa Park, Calif.; Mrs. Lee S. Longson (Lee Ann) Eagle, Idaho; Mrs. Christopher Blakesley (Susan Jean) Baton Rougee, Louisiana; Sharron Hatton, Holladay; Mrs. Gary Brown (Merrilee) Sandy; Mrs. Stephan Pia (Pamela), Provo, Utah; and Mrs. D. Kim Clayton (Jillene) Holladay; also 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 11, 12 noon, Holladay 21st Ward, 4650 South Naniloa Drive (2880 East). Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., and Thursday, at the ward, one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
