New attractions at the George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park and Museum will be dedicated Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m.
The park has added new dinosaurs, a "cave," classrooms, cafeteria, playground, dioramas, educational activities and an expansion to the memorabilia store. "The park has become an integral part of the Ogden River Parkway and a proud addition to the many wonderful activities found in Ogden," stated Ogden Mayor Glenn J. Mecham."The park has become popular as a destination for tourists, and is rapidly developing a reputation for both quality education and entertainment," he said.
The dedication will also recognize the highly successful partnership of individuals, foundations, corporations and Ogden City. The success of the park has resulted in at least 50 individual, corporate and foundation contributions totaling more than $425,000 in 1994. More than $2 million in cash and resources has been raised for the Dinosaur Park since its inception in 1991.
