DEATH: LARS CREER NIELSEN ""MY JOY AND MY SONG""

Our precious Lars Creer Nielsen, 74, died August 30, 1994 in Salt Lake City of a heart attack.

Born August 17, 1920 in Spanish Fork, Utah, son of L.W. and Elenor Creer Nielsen. Married Gwen Clark December 31, 1945. Lars graduated from the U of U in engineering. Was a member of Theta Tau. He received an M.S. at Stanford University in aeronautical engineering, was a Lt. J.G. in the U.S. Navy during World War II, taught mechanical engineering at the U of U for two years, worked for McDonnell-Douglas for 23 years, Southwest Research Institute, San Antonio and Morton Thiokol, Brigham City, retiring in 1986. He made a significant contribution to the aerospace industry. Lars was loving and kind. His family was his life. He enjoyed traveling and playing bridge each Wednesday with Frank and Kathryn Mumford.Survived by his wife, Gwen; daughters, Terry (Carl) Spencer, Richfield; Melinda (Paul) Lund, Salt Lake; son, Edward L Nielsen, Seattle; nine grandchildren; sisters, Delfa McGlothlen, Ruth Cundick and Grace Walker. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Clifford and Harold.

Funeral services 12 noon, Friday, September 2, 1994 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Drive. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday prior to services from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
