Tom Thies, an aquarist at the Seaside Aquarium in Seaside, Ore., looks for cracks in the shell of Victor, a 25-pound lobster. The crustacean, estimated to be between 80 and 100 years old, died Thursday after he was dropped on the pavement during an attempted theft earlier in the week. A 35-year-old Estacada, Ore., man is facing charges of first-degree theft, first degree animal abuse and criminal abuse in the incident.
