U. LIBRARY TO TRAIN IN BOOK PRESERVATION

The National Endowment for the Humanities has given the University of Utah a $138,000 grant to help preserve America's cultural heritage.

The grant will permit the library's preservation department to train technicians from nine Western states in repair techniques for heavily used books. The technicians represent state, public and private libraries, state historical societies and a state museum.
