COLLISION KILLS PROVO MOTORCYCLIST

A Provo man died Sunday night from injuries suffered in a collision between his motorcycle and a car on 100 North.

Killed was:Ricky Hundley, 41.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., Hundley was driving westbound on 100 North on a motorcycle, near the intersection of 100 North and 600 West, when he attempted to pass a westbound vehicle driven by Danny Draper, 31, Provo, on the right side, said Provo Police Lt. Greg Du Val.

However, Draper turned right and struck Hundley's motorcycle, police said. Hundley, who was not wearing a protective helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle.

Provo police and fire units responded to the scene within minutes. Hundley was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo suffering from severe head injuries. He died later that night, said a hospital spokesman. Draper was uninjured.

No citations were issued at the scene, although an investigation is continuing, Du Val said.
