Deseret Book has opened its newest and largest (22,000 square-feet) store at 1100 E. Fort Union Blvd. in a building formerly occupied by Herman's, but it won't have a grand opening until Saturday, Sept. 24.
During the event that begins at 9 a.m. there will be entertainment, discounts on select merchandise and prize drawings. Regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday.The new facility features all-new specialty departments and event areas. In addition to a complete line of LDS books, music, videos and genealogy materials, the store has a lesson preparation area with laminating and photocopying equipment and workstations with tools and supplies.
Other departments include gifts, travel accessories and study materials for missionaries; a campus shop with items from Brigham Young University, the University of Utah and Ricks College; emergency preparedness items from Emergency Essentials; a matt and frame shop, craft and needlework kits, hundreds of national titles and LDS gifts.
